V6GTO - remember my grand?
Discussion
Hello all,
Ha I was just thinking about this debate on a long drive! Obviously the money is an irrelevance just a pointer about how hard people can argue a point...
Not sure how the M15 is going, or what it will cost, etc, etc, etc
In the meantime the 997 is available and maybe the 998 will be due come the M15's launch?!!?!?! Remember...Porsche there is no substitute!

So why did the M14 get binned anyway? How is the M15 different?
Joust - it wouldn't be fun if everyone liked the same sportscars but it surely can't be a good thing when the new model gets binned within months of its launch? I mean even the Micknell was telling the world how the first press car was hoping to be out around Christmas time..
You know half my Porsche comments are tongue in cheek but you gotta accept that a level of efficiency is necessary!!

M14 got 'binned' as you put it because of the reasons reported in the press.

The M14 at the end of the day was just an updated M12. The M15, and hence the name changed, is a massive departure from the 12 with almost nothing carried over (Lee thinks that the glue used to stick the carpet down might be the only common thing...)
As for efficiency, not sure Porsche counts in there. After all they have taken 40 years to produce a car that overcomes the rather daft idea of hanging the engine out behind the rear wheelbase line....
Engineering excellence over many years yes, but efficieny no. Efficient would have been to have moved the engine.
