Folks,

I have a Pug Gti 6 which is getting a hard time from those pesky Civic Type R's and the like. I would therefore like to give the old girl a bit more grunt by getting some naughty cams, remap, decat etc.

Does anyone know of a good place where I could get this work done? I am in Aberdeen but will be willing to travel further afield to make sure I get it done proberly.

Ta muchly

JD Motors in Insch or Ricky Gauld, near Huntly.

Personally, they're the only two in the North east I'd bother with for tuning.

Ricky Gauld set up the engine management on my sprint car and the difference was remarkable, albeit it was well off before he got it.

I would certainly recommend him.

Ricky Gauld used to work on my Hillclimb/Sprint car albeit a long time ago, looks like he maintains his very high reputation. Take it to him, you wont be dissapointed.

well Ive phoned Ricky Gauld and he said he doesnt deal with engine remaps.

Tried Jim King in Inverurie and he simply told me he wasnt interested.

I am aware of Wallace Performance but have heard negative comments made about their quality of service. It seems however, that apart from Ricky Gauld they are the only garage in the NE that has a set of Rollers, and of course, Ricky doesnt appear interested either - that or he genuinely doesnt do remaps, but that seems to conflict with advise given here!

AAARGH!

I can see this turning into a bit of a nightmare.

Are Eccose any good for actual tuning (as opposed to just bolting stuff on and hoping for the best)? When I spoke to them, they seemed keen on supplying and fitting various bits - including throttle bodies , but I think thats probably a bit too far and they seemed to avoid the issue of remapping to suit the mods. Any Ideas?

The best solution is to fit a 50BHP NOS nitrous kit for 550 pounds fitted. No endless dyno work for very small gains with chips etc.YOU KNOW U WANT IT!
