The 'furry' part of the velcro fastening strips on the rear roof section of my Chimaera are past their best.

Does anyone know a source of heavy-duty velcro?

I had the rear screen replaced earlier this year, but forgot to ask them to replace the velcro at the same time - dohh!

You can get a massively heavy duty velcro in Focus DIY. Comes in 50mm wide roll, about 1m long I think. The adhesive is really good too. I replaced my non-furry part on the roof edges and the stuff stuck to the bodywork a treat. Comes in a yellow box.

Our local caravan and camping shop does loads of the stuff.

Homebase stock it as well. I have a box on my desk, it is seriously sticky stuff. Available in white or black. The adhesive is so sticky its difficult to part it from the backing tape! I've used it for sticking all sorts down in my office - power strips to desks, pictures to walls, and even desks to each other. Velcro Brand Fasteners Heavy Duty Stock On Tape, 50mm x 1M, yellow and black box. About £15 I think.

As always, Ebay has it. If it works as well as you say I think I will have a go. The corners of my rear section flap about a bit (Oooh er missus) so a bit more hook stuff on the body wouldn't go amiss.

Thanks for the tips.
BTW - I've also ordered one of these to sew the strip to the roof material with (I know the roof is particularly tough to get a needle through!).
