Hi All,

Had my first full day cruise since buying the Chimaera yesterday.

Took her from Lancashire up the M6 towards the lake district, off at Carnforth and then through Morcambe before returning on the M6 again. Top down all the way and I have a nice red shiny forehead to show for it today.

Firstly I have to complement the car on it's manners. I always thought it was nice and easy to drive but yesterday was a good test.

On the way back we were in stop start traffic on the M6 and she behaved perfectly. A little warm at almost 100 degrees but the fans cut in on cue at 90 and kept the temp steady until we were moving again. Glad I didn't stall as I'm sure It wouldn't have started again for 20 mins but thankfully I didn't stall.

Another nice surprise was a guy in a brand new 911 turbo checking out the Chimaera as he went past and giving us a wave. Nice to know people in cars 5 times more expensive still take notice of tivs (then again the Chimp did sound far better than the refined porker anyway

Just a shame I am in work today as it felt like a crime putting it back in the garrage covered in dust, bus and bird-s*1t.

Still might get a chance tonight to give it a quick shine.

Thanks again for convincing me to buy a TVR two months ago...

No regrets and a grin like a Cheshire cat ever since.

Happy motoring,

Afro

Fabulous cars! I suggest you get the bird crap off asap! There is something in it which eats into the paintwork. My own P&J suffered a severe etching on the boot last week and I'm still gutted.

That was about the only thing I did do...a damp cloth and a wipe down on the affected areas.

Left lots of smudges and not very tidy but as you said it's better than leaving the B'cr@p on the paintwork.

I'd recommend carrying some Autogylm Fast Glass spray with you - brilliant at dealing with bird crap, tree sap etc...

In this weather, it's nice to be reassured that your TVR can/will cope with really high temperatures- but do check the fluid level at least once a week.

I agree, but maybe porker owners are now realising that even a 4ltr Chimaera can show a clean pair of heels to almost any of that marque other than the turbos and/or Gs

That's not a good enough reason to get into parenthood. If I did I'd have to buy a Cerb.
