Well, Ricahrd picks up my M400 at weekend, so it's time to say goodbye. With the iminent arrival of Adrian Jr keeping the M400 just didn't make sense, as it wasn't getting much use anyway.

What next? do I replace the wife's Discovery with a Range Rover, or a 30k mile 520BHP RS6 estate? or do we keep the Disco (still only 2.5 yrs old), and I buy this for the very ocassional bit of fun?

Silver six,

If its not to cheeky can I ask what you got for your M400 as I'm about to sell mine?
You can email me if you don't want to say publicly.

In fact I think we met at Donington about 18 months ago, I was in a blue EVO 6 and you had just bought your M400 from Chris Neils, indeed you just beat me to as it was the one I was after!.I think it was you anyway!

And where exactly does the child seat go? or should I leave the wife at home?

I'm thinking either something practical, and a cheap toy for occasional use, or something practical and fast (RS6) which will mainly be used by the wife (is it worth it?). 03 plate RS6 avant is £40k. keep disco, and buy 106 add 400BHP, total cost £12k. head says do this. heart says build mental rallycross type road car.

I've had an RS6 for over 18 months and it's still an enjoyable car to drive while being quite discrete. Happy to bimble along but put the foot down and not many cars will live with it. In fact, it matches my M400 up to 120mph from a rolling start at 30mph, which is quite surprising...Good value now, with most prices from about £30-40k, depending on miles/spec/colour.
