Don't normally post like this, but thanks Mr 70s T Reg Silver Porsche Driver for blocking me big time at 1600hrs this afternoon.

Lots of mates with Porsches' so don't burn me at the stake just cos I'm from the 'other' forum as this is not a dig at others.

Picture the scene, a days off holiday and just returning back home via the ring road from being to the Gorge and Chew Valley Lakes for the day with the missus, when I spot a nice looking silver Porsche about 6 cars behind in my rear view mirror whilst at the lights.

The lights go green and everyone pulls away fine with myself at the front and the Porsche who's spotted me getting through the traffic and catching up quickly. By the time he's caught up we're catching the traffic from the previous lights change and the Porsche driver behind filters from the left lane to the right lane as we're rapidly approaching a slow truck in the left.

Now me being me was thinking that he'll either hang back a little to let me out or, he race past me, still giving me time to pull out in time to miss the truck without having to slow down, but oh no......he just decided to stay in the right and creep up so I can't even see his headlights in my side mirror for the next 200m so know there's no where for me to go but slam on the anchors to avoid impending doom. whilst he then overtakes the slow moving truck and then pulls infront of it.

All round the next roundabout, and I finally managed to overtake the truck and get behind the Porsche who's driver looks in his rear view mirror as I give him as thumbs up and a sarcastic grin.

I your reading, thanks for that T**t . Hope I can repay the favour for you some day.

Was the driver in his 70s?

Sounds like a typical British driver to me, Porsche or not.

Lovely pics in your profile.

Completely unrelated, but the reason why the last pic in your profile didn't come out is that there was took much background light and not enough foreground. If you forced your camera flash to fire in that shot, it would have given you fill in light to make the picture 'work'.

So some bloke didn't let you out and you thought you'd have a moan about it.

I wouldn't even give it a second thought if it happened to me. The roads full of inconsiderate drivers and it's just part of driving in the UK. You’re just going to have to learn to relax about it, or be permanently wind up while driving.

It really isn’t worth the effort

Thanks for the tip , I didn't think it was that bad considering it was taken on a SonyErricson K750i (2meg) mobile though, but then I am half blind . Thinking about it though, I should stop being so tight and get myself a decent camera some day.

Yeah to right .

No don't get me wrong. It's just the fact that he made a consecious decission to go from warp speed, pull into lane 2, put his front end is inline with my back end, and then slow down to match my speed, as to block me from pulling out as we were approaching the truck rather quickly so I had to slam on the brakes to avoid rear ending the truck, after which he then pulled back into lane 1.

Some may say that I shoudn't have been going so quickly in the first place??? Maybe so.

But you are right there are alot of inconsiderate drivers out there, it's just the one who seem to make it their entertainment by forcing people into positions they wouldn't normally be in as if they want to cause an accident that p*ss me off.

TaTa.

suggest you simply start the manouver to pull out, they usually get the message and brake, lorry drivers do it all the time.

Its a jungle out there !

Presumably you were indicating ?

My wife is terrible for moaning about people not letting her out in this type of situation, but then she's not indicating that's what she wants to do.

When I point this out to her, she says that if she put her indicator on, the people behind might think that she hadn't seen them, think she was going to pull out, and this would cause an accident.........WTF !!

I was indicating. Whether the Tiv was obligeing at the time is a different story.

No....I'm only joking, the car's pretty damn reliable, next time I'll just have to be abit more on my toes.

Guess I'll just have to put this one down to a live and learn.

I'd agree with her, unless you are manoeuvring in urban traffic at low speeds. I can't stand people putting indicators on when there isn't space, as it does suggest they haven't seen you, and if you do let them out in front, they will probably pull out in front of you and proceed with no pace whatsoever! With proper planning and looking up the road you shouldn't be having to crowbar into gaps anyway

Spot on!

I do a lot of Motorway miles and it's one my pet hates. You don't just stick your indicator on and then check the mirrors. It should be the other way round. The indicator is not a "Please will you let me out?" signal, it signifies that you are about to make a manouvre.

Blimey, a bit ranty for me. Chill pill dude..
