Water temperature at the weekend

Not sure if I should be worried about this but on Sunday (which you will remember was very hot !!) I noticed on the way back from Goodwood that when making full use of the gears and revs on the way home, and when stationary for a while, my temp gauge was awfully close to the white line that marks 3/4 of the way to the red...
Is this Ok ? It never went over it or anywhere near the red but struggled to stay at dead horizontal where it normally lives....
When driving "normally" it was fine dead horizontal as usual...

Any thoughts ?

Yup just like mine when 30+ ambient.

Yep mine did that on the way to the workshop, but alas got stuck in traffic for an hour and blew some out of the overflow for the first time

I found this aswell driving home on sunday!! - Almost into the red at the dartford tunnel (and I wasn't revving hard in the tunnel!). Glad to have found this thread!!

Mine went into the Red (Temp as well as bank balance!) today..stuck in traffic and noticed it.
Plonked the heater on full hot, and switched the extra manual fan on, back down to white line.

Mine goes over the line and the fan kicks in just before the red so I wouldn't worry about it!

Mine's normally horizontal and went up near the white line tonight too.
Must be the humidity/heat

Mines similar - I'm running 'water wetter' as a trial but it's made no difference.

mines exactly the same, le mans in the sweltering heat and it was exactly the same!

Yup i was worried when mine went over a 1/4 but never goes higher even if i send it amast the burning fires of hell (Top revs)

Thanks guys (and gals). I feel much better now. I did also resort to putting the cabin heater on full blast when stuck in very slow traffic and coincidentally realised it was a cheap solution for weight loss - I sweated buckets !!
