Can the exhaust position be altered. The pipes are catching the top lip of the holes they stick through.
Looks like the rear splitter needs to come off to get to it.
Is this a home fix or a dealer job ?

Thanks in advace.

you can do it at home if dont mind fiddling around.
the rear hangers are held with bolts and are adjustable(above exit pipes)further forward there is a centre hanger which is also adjustable.
you will need rear valance off to do all this.
mike.

I doubt you will be able to unless you buy two new rubber supports that hang above the rear exhaust box. These little buggers sag through time because they are not meant to be hanging the way they do. To stop them dropping again bend a peice of metal around the rubber and drill it out so as it alighns with the holes then bolt them on. Or better still take the whole exhaust box off and have straight through pipes..

Currently have a`similar problem with my T350. Had a blueflame sports exhaust fitted 18 months ago, no problems at all until this morning. Took car out for its sunday morning exersize and noticed that on tick over I had a knocking noise from the rear of the car, also happened when I drive over the various lumps and bumps on what constitute roads in west yorkshire.
Stopped to check it over and found the taipipes knocking on the lower edge of the holes in the cheese grater spoiler. All hangers look secure but exhaust box seems to move about a lot more than it used to.
Do the rubber hangers perish or wear in time?? now going to attempt to remove rear diffuser for closer inspection.
Any body else encountered a similar problem??

There is a hanger under the centre in front of the diffuser/silencer box - right where you can't reach it. Mine broke and needed replacing - symptoms were like yours with the rear hangers appearing fine but a lot of movement in the back box in general.

Cheers targarama, got diffuser off, exactly as you say, hanger in front of exhaust box has snapped. Looks like a trip to dealers tomorow to try and get a spare.

The two rear hangers rubber has perished.
Can these be obtained from any Motor spares / Exhaust place or is it empty wallet time again ?

John,

I Know that the rear hangers are our sourced but from what and who i dont know. They are quite cheap from the main dealers but would strongly suggest bending a thin peice of plate around the rubber before you fit or get fitted the rubber exhaust mounts.

Thank you for the help mate.
Do you mean like a L or U shaped bracket ?
If so will this stop the exhaust being able to flex as designed.
Pics would be lovely

John cant do pics at the moment as Fotango have gone up the swanney. When you purchase them mounts that fit above each side of the rear box, before fitting them bend a peice of thin sheet metal around the rubber part drill it so it picks up the holes in the mounting bracket. By doing this the weight of the rear box wont put to much strain on the rubbers as over time with the heat they stretch then break causing the rear box to drop. Sorry but that is the best way i can explain it without pictures, hope you understand.

I have just replaced two new rear rubber mounts on my 05 reg T350c. Took approx: 2 hours, 1st ever time. They cost me approx: £8.00 each from Gatwick TVR main dealer. Good Luck
