Bought a '66 fastback ...

Just bought this car ...

Many months, nay, years of work lie ahead to get it as I want it ... !

Gonna be a long project. It's a '66 that's had new floors and rear wings. Have a loose plan in my head already as to how I want it to finish up.

347 engine, manual 'box, Painless wiring, rack and pinion steering, Global West suspension with a bit of a restomod feel but not straying too much from the original lines. Can't spoil those. Disk brakes all round etc ... red interior for sure.

I can say it will be fun though but that's cos i haven't started it yet ... it's only then the frustrations will begin ... !

Looks nice Mikey,

I followed a couple of Mustangs the other day in Bucks. One was a dark green (iirc) and looked like an early one 67? It was following another one which was being trailered that was a Shelby model.

Both looked very nice!

Spoke to the guy who owns it tonight and I should be picking it up in the next week/10 days or so.

Just gotta find somewhere to put it now!

Am going to try and create a website on which to doument the restoration - have seen other PHers put there's on the 'net - always well received. Search in the US for sites showing restorations of Mustangs and there are literally millions - not so many over here.

The Painless Wiring you mention, is that on your "to do" list or is the car already rewired with it?

Have you used the kit before or have any opinion on it?

I've really got to get mine sorted and am considering Painless or the EZ2-Wire kit. As a further alternative, chatting to Javed at Capel Manor, he suggested the Ron Francis kit. My indicators stopped working a few months back and now I have no back lights either so it's becoming a priority!!
