So who knows about the alarm sounder wiring?

I've got Meta coming round to do me a new fob and immob key but thought I'd get him to get the alarm sounder going at the same time as it's been disconnected since I've had the car.

There's 2 wires that come out from inside the wing above the rad, one is purple and has been cut on my car and the other is leads to a plug that simply plugs into the alarm unit by the looks.

By my reckoning the purple is the problem but I have no idea what it should be connected to and ideally I'd like to get it connected before he comes round.

I think the purple cut off wire would be attached to the bonnet opening sensor if the car had one, therefore they are all cut off as standard on our cars.

May be wrong but we'll see when you get some more replies.

Can anyone else take a very quick look at their car and see if they have the purple wire and if it goes anywhere.

Spot on Neil, Dave from Meta confirmed it was a bonnet opening sensor and so not not required. I doubt he visits here but absolute top marks to the bloke for sorting me car out.
