Miserable Bar Stewards
Discussion
Just got off the phone with Dastek UK. After being given the run around with emails for about a week with Paul I thought I'd call and get a straight answer. He didn't even bother to call back himself but had one of the other staff do it. Customer service, what's that!?
To cut a long story short, I wanted Dastek in Fife to tune my iron block VT1 with a unichip.
He was very keen when the emails started, that was until I told him I already had the chip from Aus (very cheap through poorly advertised ebay auction - less than £60 inc postage to the UK. Bit of a risk, but hey!) and just wanted them to install and tune it. As soon as he realised that I would only be paying for install and tune, he didn't want to know and I was told they will only fit chips bought directly through them.
So be warned anybody that may be looking for a tuning bargain, be it HSV, TVR or similar. If these guys don't get big bucks from you, they'll fob you off.
Can anybody suggest a unichip dealer/tuner somewhere in the north of England? Somebody must be willing to fit it for me.

Should be an easy fit mate.
I did my 93 camaro which was a chip replacement. Took about 1hr. Just do some reading and posting, maybe on justcommodores forum or ls1.com.au
Just be careful not to bend the chip pins.
If the chip has a tune on it desinged for your engine, then you are ready to go if you just plug it in. If you want a full dynotune, I guess thats a different kettle of fish.
