I have an amazing knack of killing any thread that I contribute to stone dead on this site for some reason.

Today I am logged in under another name as I contributed to the valentines day thread and could not be sure that the Mrs would not read my post and therefore guess what I had got her. Anyway it appears that my "gift" has not deserted me.

And yes I do realise that it would be terribly ironic if nobody replied to this thread.

That's interesting - I thought only I was capable of killing a thread by posting on it. Still, at least I know I'm boring now and can keep quiet. I'll quite often write a reply, then think "no, this is quite an interesting thread - be a shame to kill it" and so I don't send it.

Are we having a contest to see who has the strongest thread-killing powers now? I reckon I have a good chance. If this is the last post, then I will claim my prize......

you can quantify this - add up the % of posts which are last in the thread. I'm up in the late 90's - but i always put that down to people not understanding my sophisticated humour. Our distinguished host had an alternative explanation along the lines of "your posts look relevant to the outsider, but they are not"

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not picking on you

And I thought it was just me. Look at the shear number of threads that seem to end with a posting from me, and I'll be getting a complex pretty soon now.....

[and if no bugger posts after this one I'll know it's true....]

It's because your replies are unbelievably comprehensive - if you've answered every question posed by the thread, there's not much to add. Stop being so damn helpful!

At the risk of finishing this one....

Alan - your trying to embed a picture.

It's URL is

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/johndriver/Diles/boredthread.gif

Now - what you need to do is to just put [ pic ] before the http bit and [ /pic ] after the .gif bit (but without the spaces after the [ and before the ]

like this

If you want to see it just click "quote" on this reply and you'll see how to do it in the quoted text.
