WOO HOO Look what the postman brought for me!!

My engine arrived this morning and i must say i am very impressed with it. Many thanks to Daryl (Dr Dee) and the team at FASTCO, they have been absolutely brilliant and didnt once loose patience with me when asking stupid questions and when dealing with all the 'added' extras that i asked for. First class service all round.

its looking at least 500 dyno man had slightly smaller dia. headers than the ultima headers, so i'm looking to get a bit more out of it yet.

Just a couple of points. If your heads have square ports then you will find that the headers will need a little porting to get them to match correctly. See in the pics below.
You can see the outline of the head port in the soot. In the second pic I opened them out with a carbide burr in a die grinder. It wil help flow and stop creating hot spots.
The other point is just a small one in that the thermostat housing outlet looks a bit steep. A 90° outlet will work better. Good luck with the rest of the build.

I would do it before fitting the engine.
Take a piece of stiff card (cereal packet) and make a gasket the exact size of the ports in the head. Now turn it over and place it on the header to see how much has to be removed.
The port in the header should be the same size or larger than the port in the head. Larger is not a problem and some say it is a benefit.
