Engine mountings split...
Discussion
At my 12,000 mile service my dealer told me one of my engine mountings is split. Although he thought this should be covered under my 3yr warranty (car is an '05 Tuscan 2) the factory said they only cover these parts for one year - hence I'm coughing up the cash for a replacement.
I didn't realise the 3yr warranty had such exceptions.
Has anyone had any others?

Chasa,
Bad news, did you as a result of your new enlightenment ask them for a LIST of warranty exceptions...... I believe generally a warranty does not cover perishable items such as clutch friction plate, tyres, seals....(not the oink oink type....
) and rubber engine mounts may be considered as such.
I would ask anyone with such a warranty to ask for a list of the exceptions. In anycase its a premature failure IMHO and I would at least push for free labour as good gesture.
Good luck

my last new one lasted 80 miles. Utter crap design, cheap part by TVR, who have apparently tried a couple of different designs. It's killed by the heat from the exhaust perishing the rubber then the metal mount eventually breaks.
Expect to replace one at least once a year unless you drive like a girl or your dealer is a fool like the one I heard about that did not even know the mount was broken so used washers etc to adjust the banging/rattling exhaust
