I am about swap the 997S for a Gallardo (early 05) with manual box in metallic black - wise move?, anyone going to try and disuade me? Tough decision, I have been a Porsche driver for years and love the things but want something a bit more exotic.

If you have another daily driver, get the gallardo. Being a 05, you'll still be covered by warranty.

It isnt a daily driver - just a weekend toy. I have a 3 series for work.

If you can get a car with a nice spec (read Sat NAV) that'll help a lot on resale. Also told nice spec e-gear with NAV are in BIG demand

They are great cars, and don't forget to get a Tubi. They are awesome. imo A ferrari will never have the presence a Lambo ( caveat F40/F50/Enzo )

Yorkie, you've got to do it. I did the same thing, went from years of having 911's (my last was a 550HP GT2 Cab)and I've never looked back. Its such an event everywhere you go, its great. Oh the peformance and handling aren't bad as well.

Andy.

As about half of Gallardo owners have had 996TTs, and the like, previously I'd say you have your answer.

I know of a couple of guys in the US, with newly received 997TTs, who have already chopped them in for Gallardos.

The 997S is a good car though, and 997TT would also be a worthwhile upgrade.

Good luck, what ever you go for.

p.s. As Jonny is trying to prop up 6.0 litre Diablo prices by dissing residuals on G's I wouldn't listen to a word he says!

Its definately going to be a manual.

I really want the electric blue colour but seems rather hard to find one. So I think I will go for one of the black manuals I have found.

Good man,

Caleum Blue is definately the best colour, but then again I'm biased! Apparently according to some chap on Lambo-power only 150 were made in that colour world-wide for 04&05 production. I looked at a few black ones, but I felt it didn't show the lines of the car of as well as some of the brighter colours.

Good luck with hunting one down, and post some pics when you get it.

Andy.
