Telephoto converters, Please help!

I have recently bought a kodak p880 and i am now searching for something which can help give me a further focal length. I found a 1.4 times telephoto converter on amazon for 100 pounds. Can anyone help me with what this is? Whether its good value for money and how much further it would help?

I multiplied the maximum focal length of my camera which is 140 by 1.4 and got a quite rubbish 196 result. Is that all it will do?!?!?

Yep that's what it will do ! Doesn't seem good value for money to me either. There doesn't seem to be much from independant manufacturers for the P8x0s yet either, but you may be able to find something from Raynox which will attach to your filter thread with an adaptor. for example
