Just spent two days driving with Don at Bruntingthorpe.
Made really good use of my soon to be replaced tyres and learned loads about everything from steering to how to accelerating and braking. First day was possitively eye opening and day two consolidated and opened eyes I didn't know I had!
Highly recommended if anyone's interested...

I fear for my tyres.
With good reason though since it'll be you doing most of the driving, it's up to you just how 'nuts' you go...
This occured to me too late, take a close up photo of tread levels before and after the day.
As a hint though, my eagle F1's had around 8k on them and the rears had about 60% left.
After two days with Don, the fronts are now almost as bad as the rears and the tread now resembles a sawtooth pattern across the width of the tyre. I'm also going to TRL tomorrow for a day of 'Ultimate Car Control' thanks to Autocar.
I fully expect to need new rubber!
Just completed the Ultimate day yesterday at TRL. Very intresting and common sense regarding the weighting of the car. I would like to see how it can be used on the open road, as for a track I can see exactly how it would benefit. Having said that I do have a wicked corner which is a 90 degree angle comming into my road. Using the skills I learnt yesterday I can now get around it in double quick time in my wifes MCS, not confident enough to try in the 911 just yet.
Might try the Don Palmer day when my tires are a wee bit older. Be good to hear what you think of the Ultimate day.

Enjoyed the 'ultimate' day yesterday, nothing like as much tyre wear.
Basically a days instruction on weights and balances for a car with the practical side focusing on a rather tidy cornering technique. There was more to it than just that though.
Thoroughly enjoyed my time with both Don and Robb.
P.S. the Ron Haslam Race School is good fun too !
Zee - I remember you, the chap with the all black Z4. How about the guy with his AMG S55, what a bonkers car to take along! Would have liked a go in those diesel BM's I recon the torque must have been huge. I did find it of use, but now want to get some more tuition on more fast road orientated training.
That was indeed me in the Z4 with the 'GRR' plate.
It was good to see a nice range of cars on track on Friday.
The website for Robb is: www.ultimatecarcontrol.com/home-page/

Thanks for that. Now i wonder how much that costs.
i always worry when they don't list prices on the site.

Me too actually, this was via the Autocar offer but I think Pistonheads have a similar deal.
I think it cost me £360 for the day in my own car.
Give them a call, can but ask....

£360 is not bad i would say, i'll be a while until i can go as i'm at Bedford on 4th Aug. Maybe i can have it as a birhtday pressie...
Soemone loves you then, I don't get anything like that for my birthday

Hahaha she might love me but i think i'll probably be putting about £300 towards it myself!
I've done 4 days with Don at Brunters. I learnt a huge amount and had a good laugh into the bargain.
I was worried when I saw it was raining on the morning of my first session but by the time the day was half through I was pleased about it. I managed to use 3/4 of a tank of petrol doing about 70 miles one day and I have had to replace all my tyres.
The Bruntingthorpe skid car is well worth a go. It's a standard car with outriggers which runs on the normal runway surface rather than a tired Sierra on an oily surface so it behaves a lot more "normally".

Are you bringing the Big Red Shiney motor??
Unfortunately my boss would frown on me tracking a £165K Scania! Maybe i can work on him for next year
