Maranello, 6th February – For dedicated collectors, a Formula 1 engine is really something special. With this in mind, Ferrari Shop offers you the chance to acquire an exclusive item of Formula 1 memorabilia, the 047 engine fitted to the F300 car, which took part in the 1998 F1 World Championship.

The 047 is a ten cylinder, 80 degree V configuration, 2997 cc capacity, putting out 700 horsepower. Just one of these units will be for sale tomorrow, 7th February on the very same day that this year’s Formula 1 car is launched

Lots of bhp but not enough torque, 'there ain't no substitute for cubes' in my book.

And you'll have to rebuild it after every 100 miles!

dont be silly, they only need a rebuild every 250 miles.

still if you kept the rev limit down to a more manageable 15,000 perhaps you could stretch it to 500 miles between full rebuilds.

if that one sells, you could always get an exploded diagram and make one yourself by buying the ferrari parts over the counter.

Of course, you may need to ask chassis for his wisdom in these matters

How much would something like that cost? Even though the cubic inches are not there and torque on the bottom end isn't too much, the sound of the engine alone would probably be amazing!!
