4200 Aircon problems
Discussion
im probably putting 2 and 2 together and making 5, but i had the same years ago when i owned my first maserati, a biturbo. sort of a trickle coming out of from behind the dash into the passenger footwell. Now the reason i write this is that in my case it was coming from the heater matrix, which to get to was a dash out job which is major work, lots of labour. So i would be wary if they try to fob you off or if your warranty expires before it gets fixed - if indeed its caused by the same thing

Guys,
Just spent two weeks at the dealer having the heater box replaced (dash in and out) and still it leaked within 12 hours of getting it back!!!
I've told the dealer they have to buy it off me. Very frustating problem, seems minor but you can't drive it with wet feet!

Rich,
you still having problems with the aircon leak?
I ask as mine has been into Lancasters this last week for major service and took the opportunity to ask them to sort out the leaking onto the passenger footwell (which had really started to annoy - as you say, a small thing, but really annoying)....
The car came back all sorted - it definitely does not leak any more..... Glen on the service desk (excellent customer service IMHO) explained that the problem was not with the heater box, but with the hard plastic pipe that comes out of the heater box (through which the water drains down under the car). Not easy to pick up the explanation over the phone, but somewhere near where there is a 90 degree corner, it apparantly had a 'kink' in it, which caused the leak.
It could be that this is a common fault, and perhaps your 'dealer' might call Glen at Lancasters, Colchester, Glen said he'd be pleased to compare notes with your guys, and this may help on getting yours sorted.... HTH
Cheers
