Cerb Gone

After 12 months of ownership, our 4.5 LWT Cerb has gone. Its being replaced by a Lotus Elise.

Quite enjoyed the ownership experience, but never quite lived up to reputation.

Its at Hexham Horselss Carriages for sale if someone want probably the nicest original LWT 4.5 in the UK.

I am with you on this, they are great cars but eveytime I drove it I wa thinking 'shit! What was that' to every little moise.

I was like this for a short period. The way I look at it is like this - its not in the same league as a BMW/Porsche/top range Mercedes quality wise and it never will be. The parts used to make it were some of the cheapest they could find. They will go wrong and probably quite regularly. Once you except this then you can get on with enjoying the fact that you only paid around £20k for a car that will outperform almost anything, can be upgraded like a hobby, looks like nothing else on earth and that all school kids smile and point at and wave and urge you to spin the wheel etc. TVR's are special, they have a mystique as they are relatively rare. People are not afraid to stick the thumbs up at you and shout nice car mate, whereas if you have a Porsche or ferrari etc you don't get the same friendly faces and people tend look away.

Just remember you can be excepted anywhere in a TVR and although you might break down you'll still look cool doing it - even AA men love TVR's !!!

I've seen your Cerb in HHC, very nice indeed. Did you have much trouble with it?

I had the usual really. A starter motor and, because it was particularly heavy, a clutch and a precautionary slave cylinder. Other than that, nothing.

Probably the biggest reason for sale is that I'm not a V8 person and have other cars I enjoy more.
