Closed door and window went down
Discussion
1998 3.4 996, closed the door this morning & the window went half down! Put it back up and tried it several times again, just the usual small down on opening & up on closeing.
Has this happened to anyone else, is it just a one off or does it mean I will be parting with money shortly.

I have had "glitches" like this in the past with my Boxster. In my case it had to do with a failing battery. I think it is just one of those things!

It's something to do with the memory function of the window.,... It happened on mine, and the advice was to disconnect the battery to reset the window limits or something.....
I took mine in, as it was under warranty, but generally an easy fix I think. Wait until it starts to do it more frequently tho'......

I've had similar on my Z4, and my brothers Audi TT seemed to have a mind of it's own as far as the windows were concerned!
The Audi dealer suggested that it was the trap sensor that was malfunctioning and suggested that he no longer open/close the doors by pushing the windows. So he suggested that they not be so presumptuous, as he had never done so, knowing that it would knacker the window mechanicals! Dealers...
I think they swapped the sensor, but it didn't solve the problem. I believe that in most cases it's just a quirk of the electronics control module, when they receive certain input combinations they must fail-safe and drop the window to avoid trapping.
