What's oil consumption like on a 997C2S ?
Discussion
Hi 343 BHP - My 997 C2S has now completed 1800 miles from new... and I have not had to put any oil in yet so far - Which is quite unusual actually as they normally do a bit of oil in the early days...
Having said that - the in-car oil level readout is about 1/2 way down the gauge - so that indicates roughly to me that the car has consumed roughly 1/2 a litre thus far.
To be honest I aim to keep the car on about 1/2 to 3/4 on the gauge.
I cannot vouch for the honesty/reliability of the gauge at all. In the past 3 996's and one 997 I have never manually dipped the oil.
My 996 Turbo used to consume about a litre per 1500 miles or so - and that was perfectly normal.
Hope this helps
