Privilege and Admiral have always been the best for me.... Can't remember which one, but one of them doesn't require Tracker......

Admiral are cheap, but you can never get through to the call centre!! Options also add quite a bit to the quote. Also read the cover carefully, they don't include some things by default that you might expect (e.g. fully comp for use in Europe). But then that's why they can give cheap quotes, you don't pay for things you don't want and add on those you do.

I used to be with Churchill, and I really liked them. Quite cheap, and brilliant customer service.

My Boxster was cheapest by a mile with More Than (although the value of my 996 c4s cab was too high for them to quote). I tried all the specialists listed in 911 magazine (but not in all honesty A Plan)and was slightly shocked by what they wanted. Finally hit insurancesupermarket.com and came out with what I thought is a very reasonable £700 from Norwich Union, protected NCD etc etc.

Thing is, not having made a claim for 12 years, I have absolutely no idea how "good" my insurance company is.. or rather how "bad" they are. I focus on the lowest quote and read the small print to ensure it has what I want on it.

I've also found that because I live in London (ie. high risk) the price varies hugely with most of them being at around 3k and only a handful below the £1.2k mark. It's a bit of a f**ker - I would have thought that 12 years NCD would count for something more.

Actually, i think this is a problem with alot of insurance databases (atleast certainly the group admiral is in)

For somereason, the 996 appears to have been buggered up on the online system, you need to phone them, and make sure they know exactly which car they think they are insuring..

i went through all the lists, 3.4 C4 is on there but not the 3.4 C2

when i told the guy a friend has his c2 insured he replied "hes paying insurance but not neccisarily insured becuase the car is not on our system"
