Earlier today I faxed a request for a record to be added to a certain satanic ISP's DNS.
When they actioned the request, some complete and utter f*ckwit has typed the f*cking IP address in wrong. And the DNS team apparently aren't back until Monday. This is a service we needed to have running this weekend.... but it was only incorporated in the 6pm DNS build so I couldn't check it until 6:30pm, and apparently the DNS team closed at 5 or 5:30.
I mean - I am SO furious with them. It's not exactly rocket science. You have to copy a name and an IP address off a fax, and just not scramble the letters or decide you don't like the number 87 so you're going to type in 80 instead.
WHAT KIND OF COMPLETE TW4T CAN'T TYPE IN AN IP ADDRESS CORRECTLY???????????
And the worst thing is - I now remember they've done it before. It's the principle that makes me so furious. It's like a surgeon removing the wrong limb or organ FFS. And then you can't call anyone to get it fixed.
I'm going to lie down now before my head explodes.

cooo...nice rant!
Don't know why ISP's still have such archaic systems in place.
We ditched a certain devilish ISP several years back due to their amazing red tape and charges to do such simple tasks. A lot of name registration companies now give completely free reign over your dns records with web based tools and immediate, or very quick update. For our purposes, this is a much better system.
