Hi

Could someone just confirm; is it clockwise to harden and anti clockwise to soften?

Cheers

cheers...had topcats fit and set them up last week. Done about 100 miles on them now and very happy especially having now softened them 2 clicks all round.. Still tends to feel a bit skittish sometimes over bad road surfaces but guess thats just part of the griffs inherent make up. Riding on s03s which warren at topcats said really doesnt suit the car so will look to change for a softer compound tyre next time. That might give me a bit more feel through the wheel too which would defiantely be an added bonus!

Been playing a bit with the settings and now the rear suspension has been rebuilt had to soften the ride. However, went too soft and felt a bit wallowy so clicked it up 1 again at the weekend. Now 11 from the softest at the rear. Can't remember the fronts. Will test it out going to Blackpool at the weekend. I regularly spray some copperslip around the adjustment wheel to ensure it doesn't seize. Easy as I have 2 sets of wheels (summer/winter) so I do it then. Just click a few times up and down to ensure its free.
Would set it a bit harder but it's driven daily so need a happy compromise. Fillings are expensive these days.

Mmm this sounds like a good idea as they are pretty stiff as it is and I probably wont be changing the settings regularly so dont want them to stiffen up to the extent that I cant adjust them. Presume you are talking about Copaslip...and presume I can get this in a hardware store/B&Q?

Cheers

I got the coperslip spray from Halfords I think. I've had some in a tub for years and put it on all bolts when I refit them, and the wheel nuts and the piec of the alloy that touches the hub. Just keeps everything free and nuts will undo in time and not have siezed. Great stuff.

Out of interest FFG how easy is it to raise the ride height by say 5mm? I will soften mine by one or two clicks but I'd also like to raise it very slightly. Rich...

Not too bad Rich but slow process. I never had a tool to do the job but a 5mm or 6mm (can't recall which) hex bit in a changeable bit screwdriver does it dor me. There are holes all around the ring piece (no jokes here) which compresses/reduces compression of the spring. Just make sure you do both sides the same number of hole movements (you'll see when your under the car).
You couldn't even get a piece of paper between the wheel and the arch when we firts got ours back and we couldn't get on the drive as the exhasut was too low. Not good for handling either. It's a tad lower than original now but not much.

I used the following settings on my Tuscan - arrived at after much trial & error.

Road use, clicks up from the softest setting, F +6, R +12. Track, F+12, R +18

Hope this helps

Rich,
You can do what you want with your knob while your doing it
As I said just need something to go in the hole (no jokes agaiin please) to enable it to turn. Tightening (ie raising the body height) is much harder than the opposite. I jacked the car up and lie in the middle from the rear to enable a good purchase.
