Hi to you all.
Been following the forum, with great interest for the past few weeks now and found some very helpful tips and advice, as I'd been sourcing cars. Took the plunge last week and bought my first Porsche -
996 C2 in Artic Silver (common I know), Metropole Blue interior, 1998 with 46k on the clock. In lovely condition! Thrilled to bits with it!!
My previous car was a BMW 325i Coupe Sport (loved that one as well), which I'd had from new but I'd always hankered after a 911, but never thought I'd see one sitting in my garage. Managed to persuade her indoors that we really did "need" one! Biggest mistake was insuring it for her to drive. For someone who didn't think she'd like it as much as the BM, now she finds any old excuse to disappear out in it. The sooner I get her and my youngest son sorted with a Mini to share the better :-)
Anyway, from time to time I'll no doubt be asking advice of you lot from time to time as it seems there's a great deal of knowledge to tap into.
BTW - I'm 51 years young and based in the Chelmsford Area.
Cheers for now

Welcome to porker ownership and remember there is only one rule:

The car is for driving.

Enjoy

Enjoy the new car !!

I have the same problem with my wife - she hated the M3 I had before, but loves driving the 911 !

I bought my 996 in March. Since that time I have done 8000 miles and now have a constant grin on my face.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Porsche. No matter how sh*t your day may get, life will feel perfect the first time you fire up the engine

I had a 325 before my 993. BMW was nice but no real comparison and people let you out of junctions in a porsche!!!
