According to the chap with the chequered flag, the race is still going on! Poor old Jack. Thanks for that link, Eric - there are many reasons why I wish I'd been around in that time, and that's one of them. Grand Prix (the Frankenheimer movie) dropped through my letterbox this morning, been watching loads of that, too
BTW there's a good 10 min Brands Hatch feature on the DVD with A1GP footage and Palmer describing the corners

Shame about the god awful music!
Here's a rare one (silent as it's on home 8mm film) the 1973 Nine Hour race from Kyalami.

Absolutely fantastic - I remember watching that as a kid, the late great Jochen Rindt chasing Black Jack around Monaco. It was a great season for F1 till Monza. I also remember a race that season in Britain, where at the end of the race, Rindt pulled off the circuit, and drove his F1 car straight to where his plane was waiting to take off (so must have been Silverstone). Where are the drivers like that today. The only clip I have seen recently which equals that is the French GP with Villeneuve versus the two Renaults. 77 I think?
Yep. Fuel put in by a mechanic called Ron Dennis.
Ironically, Jack Brabham might have been World Champion if those two last lap disasters hadn't happened.
Even more ironically, Brabham had intended to retire at the end of 1969 anf put all his resources into helping his other driver, Jochen Rindt, win the title. Rindt was tempted to join Lotus by Colin Chapman and Brabham decided to drive for one more year.

I saw that too, I thought it was Oulton Park.

Definitely Brands. It was the GP. No World Championship GPs have ever been held at Oulton Park.
It was a non championship race - the Oulton Park Gold Cup in 1969 or 1970.He was second in the four wheel drive Lotus 69?? or it could be my memory as it was nearly forty years ago....
