Oil equivalences

Do any kind people know:
What is the Castrol equivalent oil for the gearbox & back axle & power steering on my '98 Chimaera?
I have the numbers for Mobil (ATF 220 -gearbox & power steering, SHC 80W 140ID for Diff.) but can't find out the equivalent Castrol oils
Help please.

Can't answer the specific question about equivalent castrol oils, but did find the diff oil difficult to source. Teesside Autotech will decant and supply the Mobil diff oil from bulk (tel [phone]) - not cheap, but i found all of the equivalent were similar prices (Teesside were not charging postage if order more than £50 when i bought mine).

Make sure you get one for use in an LSD, there are oils of same grade but not suitable for lim slips.

Millers and Morris also do the correct grade oil, haven't used either, but there are a number of suppliers on the net.(My local stockist of Millers couldn't help as he would have had to buy a pallet load himself, and doesn't get much call for it!)

The ATF220 is auto transmission fluid, in theory any Dexron IID or Dexron III should be okay (see page 218 of the 'bible'). Mobil ATF220 also listed as suitable for pas in other vehicles' handbooks where Dexron ATF shown under other brands.
