I recall people coming on here and saying they'd been quoted close to £2k to have aircon supplied and fitted. About what it costs when new. It does work well if you keep the roof on/windows closed.

Sell your car and buy another with aircon? I'm serious BTW.

If people don't stop going on about this soon I'll have to do it in my Tam.

As I've said before I cannot believe that it's difficult to fit aircon in a Tam.

You can pick up a 2nd hand electric compressor on Ebay for around £50.

You can put the condenser coil inside the 'dash' with the vents in - access is easily obtained by taking out the glovebox.

You can wire the whole lot onto the normal a/c switch on the fan temperature control using a relay. The switch is present on non a/c cars but not used.

No?

I am glad I got a Tamora with it fitted, but it's pretty feeble. Mind you it does a great job of cooling the glove box and facia where the window buttons are!

Do you mean with the roof up? It should cool the car OK, maybe yours needs recharging. If you want more cool on the drivers' side then close the knee vent under the glovebox, and possibly semi close the passengers face vent. Roof down it ain't gonna work - like any other convertible.

yep with the top on it's pretty feeble. The fan doesn't produce much flow even with only the one driver vent open.

I thought the air con on my T350 was pathetic, even when I had it recharged. For me it made what was a fantastic car unusable in the summer.
