Searched for battery first but found nothing on makes etc...
Battery does not seem to hold its charge and I thought I may change the battery first.
What should I buy for a battery? Any recommended makes (e.g Optima) and type for my S3C

I just bought the biggest and most powerful one that would actually fit under the bonnet.... paid about £60 iirc.

Check that it fits under the bonnet as some are too tall

Most of the old UK battery sizes have been superceeded by new Euro sizes or something. I find the Bosch Silver is a high quality non-spilling Calcium-Silver battery (good starting current) at a reasonable price. If you do an internet search for Bosch and/or Varta batteries, somewhere in their sites you will find listings of dimensions and ratings for all the current types. If you can join Costco wholesale, they sell the Bosch batteries at about half the prices you will pay for the Halfords equivalent.

To ask a silly question...
What rating (650A?) do I need?
