Chaps - I'm hoping to buy an early 996, which has the DSP audio pack thingy. Is it any good? Previously (having been a BMW man) I've had the HK system in an M3 which was rubbish and the "individual" audio in an M5 which was fab, and currently the Pro Logic 7 system in a 535d which is somewhere between the two.

Any input gratefully received

Many thanks

It is 'OK' - probably not quite as good as the Logic 7 but better than the M3 HK system (just!).

Plenty of scope for improvement!!

Fab - ideas for modest upgrades - ie £500ish

The best thing to do with that sort of budget is to add a small amp and sub, probably on the rear shelf area behind the back seats. Will make a big difference and be a good starting point from which to expand the system should you so desire!
