Water Wetter

Hi Everyone

Can anyone recommend if this stuffs any good. I've just had a new rad put in and wondered if now might be th etime to add something to help with cooling.

added it 3 days ago. I has lowered my temps by 5 degrees or thereabouts I reckon. BUT it hasnt been that hot since I added it. It also chases out air locks and preserves the cooling system.

cheers gazzab - is it a simple case of adding it to the coolant?

I noticed Levan have it on their site - 9.95 + VAT for a bottle plus 3.75 for postage

what rad did you have put in ? Recon, new, recon with more cores, alloy .....?

does any one know if you just add it to the fluid already in the system or do you have to drain it and then add it to fresh water

to be honest I dont know (how bad is that) the dealer who I have lost a lot of faith in didn't tell me (I suppose I should have asked!) but they werent excatly forthcoming with the info. I guess I should call them and find out

as I said earlier I added it straight in to existing coolant/water mix. the bottle said to just add it.

According to their website, it works best if you drain the system down and refill with de-ionised water and WW mixed in the correct proportions.

This'll be fine before the winter sets in....

...although with this countries' weather, that could be next week...

Its £11.96 from Demon Tweeks, plus something ridiculous like £7.50 p+p.!!

Just pour it straight into the top up bottle, no need to drain the system, Anti Freeze actually raises the temperature of the water, so water wetter counteracts that and brings it down towards what plain water would do. Its difficult to evaluate by how much it lowere the temperature, but all the info is here

There has been a lot of debate on US forums as to the disadvantages of using Water Wetter, mainly to do with it coating the inside surfaces of hoses and waterways, and not all comments are positive, so I'll be avoiding it, better to just get the existing cooling stystem working correctly and maybe add Jules' modified cooling chip. I know that that's the route I'll be going.
