Just purchased my 996 last week. This week I was driving down motorway and a rock hit my bonnet. Its a small dig but its about 10mm long and down to the primer so I can see the white showing over my black. I just want to give it a bit of a touch up so you can't see it. Hellfords don't do touch up pens for Porsches. What does anyone recommend. Has anyone tried chips away?

cheers

To be honest I'd leave it. The body is galvanised.

Mine has some minor chips and stuff, and it happens... A touch up might look worse...!

It sticks out like a sore thumb though, if I just touched it up with a tooth pick very finely it would not show at all :-)

Just read your blog, seems you are very happy with your car. That electrical prob you had, I had last week and now it's all fixed. I agree with you about a warranty I will renew when mine is up :-)

i cant see where you are, but if south east london/kent,,,you could try Tim from chips away.
hes done a few of my cars in the past, and very reasonable no---077404 11822--if he cant help he may know of someone in your area,,,i personally would nt touch it up yourself on any of them , as could look or make it worse!!,,,especially on such a quality car!!

Have you had a geo done on your car? I get a bit of vibration at highish speeds so I was thinking the wheels may need balancing and a geo would be good. I must check the tyre pressures too as they can cause a bit of bouncing, can someone tell me the pressures. They are the porsche design 18's .

cheers

IIRC it's 36 front and 44 rear on 18's. Should be a sticker under the bonnet.
