I got some tyres for my Rad SR3 yesterday and the supplier said that I might struggle to get another set for a while if I left it. Apparently Dunlop's motorsport tyre factory is on strike and don't look like going back to work soon. Anyone else had trouble or heard anything more?

You are Joe King of course!

Do you deal with HP Tyres at Whittlebury?

No the guy I deal with says the motorsport factory is on strike and not making any tyres. The tyre company you mention isn't the one I deal with, I won't reveal who they are in case they shouldn't have told me this. BTW this wasn't an attempt to get me to buy more tyres, I have known this guy a long time and he has always been straight with me.

Not sure where they are made, UK somewhere, but that doesn't narrow it down much does it!

Aren't they based near coventry? Or is that just the aviation section of the company?

Could be at Fort Dunlop?

I have spoken to my supplier again and apparently the strike is now into its third week. I wonder at what point this could start to result in shortages?

There has been industrial action at Fort Dunlop and negotiations are close to conclusion, with the hope of full production restarting tonight.

During this period we have been able to build a limited number of key sizes to supplement the stock we hold for contracted championships.

My source tells me that as far as he knows production has not restarted. I have heard of people who use Radicals on trackdays having difficulty getting tyres.

Is anyone finding this? I am OK because I did buy an extra set and I don't have many trackdays planned in the near future.
