I was correct for about 24 hours. Apparently Hamann signing for Bolton, then going to Man City, is one of the shortest periods any player has signed for a team.

The usual suspects - Martin O'Neill and Alan Curbishley - head the list of names being linked with the vacant Aston Villa manager's job, but they've been joined by one or two (or lots of) others.
Sam Allardyce, who clearly wants out of Bolton, has been linked, as has Glenn Hoddle - although the Daily Mirror claim that Hoddle will beat ex-Villa boss David O'Leary to the Sunderland job instead.
The Sun reports that Doug Ellis is struggling to appoint a manager before the start of the season - 'because it is the job no-one wants'.
Not sure if they've told that to caretaker-manager Roy Aitken or ex-manager Brian Little, who both publicly threw their hats into the ring last night.
In fact, it seems the reason Doug Ellis is struggling to appoint someone is because he's still on holiday in Majorca.
Should the rumours be true, however, an internal appointment seems likely, with Aitken, Kevin MacDonald and Gordon Cowans heading the list.
A name that Villa fans would have been dreading, Mick McCarthy, is poised to become the new Wolves manager, according to The Sun.
