Alright Keith,

You'll have to bring it along to Croft on 17th August. You and Johnny car trade bhp figures etc while we all drool over your car.

I'm prepared to envy anyone with a 993 GT2 - and that one is a beaut!
A question re colour. I was told that Audi RS Blue and Audi Nogaro Blue are different colours. Anyone have chapter and verse on it?

I held back my anorak tendancies when clubsport posted, but you've tipped me over the edge.

As far as I'm aware Audi have only ever referred to an "RS Blue" for the pearlescent colour used on the RS2/4/6 range. It has popularly been referred to as "Nogaro" but this is not the official name.

Edited to add: I'm sure Keith is just looking after the car for me until I can get my hands on it ....

So do RS blue and Nogaro look different to each other when parked next to each other???

I have also seen a few RS Audis advertised as Nogaro blue.....JC check the paint code on yours if you get a chance so that we can compare.

I'm not sure there is a Nogaro at all ...

My paint code is LZ5M which is described in the contemporaneous sales catalogue as "RS Blue pearl effect" - sales code M8.

Ah yes, but are you going to believe some random paint shop that advertises on the web, or Audi themselves?

It is quite possible that Audi started to use the name Nogaro some time after 1994/5 (anorak I may be, but I haven't collected all the Audi brochures so don't know ) and hence it has been coined for this (or similar) blues. I suspect that the popular (mis)use of Nogaro has resulted in paint suppliers referring to is as such.

If it's OK with you I'll stick with Vic/Keith in describing it as the historically correct RS Blue. With your anorak credentials and collection of photos of roll bar stickers I'm sure you'll appreciate my stance.
