I just read a story in the Saturday Times newspaper that
some 1.1 million motoring offences were caught on camera in year 2001.

Up from 777,000 in year 2000 and up from 262,000
in 1996.

So with on camera offences quadrupling over the
last few years, what improvements have we seen in road
deaths & injuries ?

About none, in my opinion.

What a massive waste of time & money these speed cameras
are.

Mais non, they are an investment. A well sited camera* pays for itself in short order.

* i.e. one hidden behind a large road sign on a long straight dual carriageway that for some inexpicable reason has a 50mph limit.

Not when it gets burned it dont!
I say that ALL speed cameras should be fair game for the captain gatsos of this world.
By any means, fair or foul, remove ,decapitate, burn, explode, bend, or break these monstrosities.
Whatever it takes to get them off OUR roads, WHATEVER IT TAKES!!!!

Its funny, but this government are really pissing off the majority with their policies. When you get middle class repectable people torching cameras (and you do), you know popular support isn't with them.

Still at least the 40 times repeat offending burglars get let out right?

Well in due course therewon't be any drivers left to caught by these cameras as we'll have all lost our licences. Of course this will create chaos as the public transport system couldn't cope. Cope to think of it it can't cope at present!
