Found this on autotrader, a 'T' reg 348 spider LHD, didn't these cease production on a L/M? It even has a T plate which must be illegal. Asking is £41.5K. No land line given, only cell.

ps used fake postcode in the search.

Not impossible to have a car registered later than it should be. Even now there is an unregistered 348 Spider doing the rounds. Mine would have been P reg if Maranello could have resolved the problems of registering a similar unregistered car in 1997. Mine was complicated by being originally supplied to Bahrain, so no EU papers even though a world spec car.

In the end bought a different one, but cars can be registered later than their manufacture year

seen this before with dvla...occasionally a car comes to the UK and is shown date of registration as '99 for example...allowing it to wear a T plate.......have a look at the V5 to confirm this.....the car may have been registered on the continent since '94.....or another example was when a car was registered overseas as a tender to a yacht...V5 is your key if taking it further.

There's a member here with a 'T' reg 964, so think your 348 sounds entirely plausible.

This is what the DVLA records say.
Ferrari Convertible
Red
3405 cc (correct for a 348)
2 previous keepers
First reg in UK. 1/9/99
Model year 1995. (Clearly incorrect. 348 production ceased in 1993)

The plot thickens!

I don't really see what the big deal is. A very common problem when cars have been imported from Italy is that the form says the year of manufacturer, but also the year of export. The DVLA have been known to put the year of export as the year of manufacturer instead-hence the reason for the possible T-Reg. I have seen this on loads of Integrales which have come from Italy.

Actually 348 GTS/B production ceased in 1994,however they did carry on making the 348 Spider alongside the 355 into 1995

Yes, that's correct. My 348 Spider is a late 1994.
