Does anyone actually use the gear shift indicators in the Dash Pod.

I use the rev meter dial or the rev counter in the digital display when changing gear.
Don't see the point of the shift indicators, unless they are usefull in track days.

Up to you really, sometimes when "making swift progress" it's easier and quicker to notice the lights than the rev counter...

Personally with my height/seat position I can't see the lights due to the steering wheel, normally use Warning beeps to signal when to change up.

Yes, but the warning beep wasn't on the earlier cars.

Well, my Tam didn't have it.

I've got my eyes fixed firmly on the road ahead when "making swift progress" so find that the change-up lights are far better as you can see these in your peripheral vision . I find I only tend to use the rev counter when warming the car up.

I have set mine to max out at 6500rpm so as soon as I see all lights ablaze and here the beeps I am changing up, I really like this feature....although the first time it happened I sh*t myself and thought something very bad had happened. Didn't know what they were when i got the car....until flash, flash flash beep

I use my ears. No need for lights or rev counters when those babys are tuned in.

I turned off all sounds - they drive me mad. The lights catch my eyes just fine or I can feel the revs.

Yes you can remove all the beeps, they were driving me insane for a while. I can't remember how, i just fiddled around with the display for a while until i found a remove all really annoying sound option. I let my ears tell me when to change gear but have put the lights to come on low revs as they're so purty

I have mine set at something like 6900, 7200 and 7500 I think.

Trouble is, hammer hard down in 2nd gear and they pretty much all come on at once anyway!

I do use them when flying, because you don't need to look down so much.

However, I find them more important when the car is cold, as they adjust themselves based on oil temp i believe....at least then you know to hold back as its not ready for revs at that level...

Isn't your rev limiter at 7,500? Bit late coming on then as you know all about it

AFAIK max rpm for Sagaris is nearer 7800 so the 7500 limit for the lights sounds ideal

Indeed.

It isnt actually that often I wind the car out to 7500 rpm, mostly because even in 2nd by that time you are looking at 100mph and you have got there bloody quick. In fact even comming down slip roads and nailing the throttle then is a tad scary, cos yer looking at unleashing the lot, on a slope, changing your angle of attack, across moving traffic, with one hand on the wheel and one on the gearshift.

Maximum attack in a 'Gris in 2nd gear is not for the faint hearted and frankly only someone terminally stupid would think about Supercharing one and only some terminally insane would think "what a great idea, lets buy one!"
