(if you'll pardon the expression )

Following on from the discussions in UKBobs aperture thread about stock libraries, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on marketing one's photographs? I have a few (not many I hasten to add, I'm definitely still learning) that I think might be sellable as prints or posters etc in their own right but I have absolutely no clue how to go about doing it.

I assume there are guidelines and outlets based on specific subjects but if anyone has any general hints and tips, or just places to start, it'd be appreciated

(www.butlerphotography.co.uk is my sort of portfolio site, but it's a bit out of date at the moment and, looking back on it, there are definitely some "fillers" in there that need to be pruned but for what it's worth etc..)

I've sold about 30 this year from www.photobox.co.uk.

Free to set up too.

Ta, I'll give that a go. I'm thinking more general exposure (hoho) though - photobox is going to be pretty photographer-oriented isn't it?

So, you're looking for a deeper depth-of-field in your audience, then?

Print some out, frame them nicely, price them at at least twice what it cost you to do that, preferably 3 times and then go round a few local art shops/market stalls etc. and see what they think.

Or have a few put on canvas by a fellow PHer and try goijng round with them - www.fluid-images.co.uk - Tim does a fantastic job.
