boot catch need help

my boot would not shut on closer inspection i removed the catch in the boot to find a wire atached to it has snapped any idea,s how can get to the other end to repair this?

Guessing, the other end is at the switch behind the 'Cerbera' badge. Peel back the boot lining et voila!

The other end is connected to a solenoid basicaly behind the door release badge, when I say connected the wire has a bend in it which passes through a hole in the solenoid plunger.
Just had to replace the solenoid on mine easy job.

Either the wire has snapped or the collar that actuates the lock release lever has come loose and dropped off. Either way you'll need to find the collar and possibly a new bit of wire to repair it. The collar has a grub screw in the side which allows for adjustment of the mechanism.

Release motor is behind the badge and inside the inner boot skin. Pull back the carpeting to expose the access hole, motor is held in with two screws.

I had this problem, peel the carpet back by the latch and use your fingers to release (give it a prod) the mechanism, you should hear it snap back as it frees itself.

Never had a problem with it since.

hi the spring is on the is just a piece of wire attched to no where now

If the catch is working properly the boot would shut even if the cable had snapped.

Whoops, sorry, didn't read the original post properly.

Slightly off topic, but i think i need a new spring. Does anyone know what these are from, and where i can get one?
