I have my eye on an April 07 del Gallardo Spider. (Clockwork orange in case you're wondering, with suede wheel and Callist rims)

Just a few q's for those already onboard.

I need the nose lift system (cranky drive), anyone know how much they weigh and do they have any significant drive dynamics effect that a user has noticed? Do they work well?

Anyone got any discount? will be going through London.

Duff Q this one but anyone get the luggage as the space I expect is a bit unique, I thought I might just, to get a weekend away's gear in better than tog bags?

I may go for the rev camers as the rear has a fair old hump, any got one and what is the functionality like?

Rear View Camera £1,361.70 £238.30 £1,600.00

what are all these packages below about, salesman said to take it in stock form saying sport ruins drive, so what does winter, journey and comfort entail?

Journey Package £343.00 £600.25 £403.00
Winter Package £2,744.68 £480.32 £3,225.00
Sport Package £1,183.00 £207.03 £1,390.00
Comfort Package £2,744.00 £480.20 £3224.00

Greatly appreciate your feedback.

Very briefly as far as I know:

Journey package - cup holder, map pocket
Winter pacakage - spare set of wheels and winter tyres
Sport package - harder suspension (not needed)
Comfort package - softer suspension (personal choice, but standard set up is fine)

The front boot is quite deep and should hold 2 squashable bags, enough for a weekend away.

Rear view camera is worth having for safety, it must be bought in conjunction with the sat nav as it works off the same screen.

Lift system shouldn't make any difference in normal driving, I would have thought it's only relevant when engaged - not sure about weight!

Hope that helps, my Lambo knowledge is pretty good but not fautless, so get the details confirmed with LL.

My SE has sports suspension and it is really too stiff for comfort over rough roads in town but better at high speed than the standard suspension (on my previous 04 at least) with reduced float and sharper responses and a better ride over 130km/h. Unless you do a fair amount of fast work, I wouldn't bother. The firmer sports suspension is likely to exacerbate any scuttle shake on a Spyder - another reason to pass on it.

The rear view camera is pretty useless and only works with the sound system on. I can't stand the squeaky speakers so I prefer to turn the radio off and as a result the rear view isn't on when I need it! In any case, the fish eye view is misleading when parking. The camera's sole use as far as I can tell is to prevent you running over your deaf dog.

Re the fitted luggage: Test it first before you buy as the 06 cars have a smaller boot due to the CD changer fitment. I suspect the (overpriced) fitted luggage may not fit. In any case (pardon the pun), you'll get more clothes into soft bags.

The cupholder is prone to being bumped by your elbow. It is OK for a waterbottle but keep the cap on!

Re the comfort pack. I think this may include softer, wider seats as well as softer suspension - primarily for the US market.

By 07, you'll probably have different options anyway.

Good luck!

Great response appreciated, other sites have cursed the camera for being to dazzling in light and to dark at night and of little good use to over rounded due to wide angle, have you used yours with some satisfaction, i am lazy and use sensors on current motor, but don't want to ruin lines on G, just heard poor feedback so far on R.camera.

Thank you, your camera feedback seems to concur with consensus, I will go satnav as I may use it near daily, stock suspension seems right for spider, all though 07 means you can get Alcantara sport steering wheel.

Thank you for your comment, you have one of the best looking cars around , my choice if i didn't pose quiet so much, what colour did you go?

Well done on the luggage I will try ensure I get no less myself! Your choices are sound, I am similar in view, branding pack can't be missed for that sense of occasion it seems, certainly taking Callistos to mark up more current vs of G, initally I wanted titanium finish but stainless is good with orange G too it seems.

Yellow. Orange wasn't available at the time...

The alcantara wheel is a worthwhile option too.
