time to sell cerbera, but what to replace it????

This is my second Cerbera. This car has been fantastic, i use it every day to travel to my office only a 4 mile round trip. Only probs ive had is window wiper motor failed and a lamber sensor.

Time to sell it though i feel? I dont know what to go for either a T350? but i feel the rear looks a little squashed? or a Noble, again not sure about the rear. But I feel the cerbera rear is looking a little dated anyway.

What are peoples views on the replacement a noble or T350.

I've often pondered on what to replace the Cerb with, i never come up with a suitable alternative, so i guess i'll be sticking for the time being

so whats got the best arse then???? lol. completely different! im even more confussed now! apart from spending £80k on a newish aston or fezza you cant beat cerb interior either! i was looking at fezza 360! 2001 model! money not a prob but i didnt give me any kind of a buzz i already have an interior not as nice!

Yes I agree. Side by side the T350 does make the Cerb look slightly dated, but not to the point where it looks too old. I am a fan of the rear of the T350, looks great on the road giving it great presence, not to mention that it also sounds well. Colour combi on Sean's (Mr Bigshot on here) is superb, Grigio Titanium with anthracite spiders and stunning colour combi on the interior.

T350....Hmmmm. Not enough presence after a cerb. I like the rear but not the front.
If I wanted a replacement coupe then I would give the Marcos some serious consideration.
Others
Maserati 3200 - but just doesnt excite me.
XKR - last shape. But too sedate.
911 Turbo, GT3 etc.... Not sure about image but a great car.
Aston - My house isnt big enough! I need a manor or I look like a wannabee.
M3 CSL but I dont shop at Next.
CLK AMG55 - like the old shape one , fast but auto and dynamics a bit boring.
Sagaris - over styled , S6, will date.

It's odd but I've always been of the opinion that the Cerbera doesn't photograph well at all. I think it loses a lot of the visual presence, just so much better in the flesh.

that is so true! ive always said that about cerbera in photos! if u dont see one for a while, it just hits you! looks great! even if ive been away for 2-3 weeks! come home and it looks great again! i think its something to do with novelty wearing off.

I know it's not a coupe nor does it have 4 seats. But I swapped from the Cerb to a Morgan Aero 8. Much better and frankly futuristic engineering compared to the Cerb it's a real eye opener. On top you have the reliability and economics of the BMW parts for both the engine 4.4 from the X5 and the gearbox.

In the flesh their a real curvy seductive shape that gets a lot of attention and serious rubber necking from passers bye.

Anyhow.. your choice.. just a left field example.

I'm pretty sure the wiring loom, ecu, window controllers etc. on the later model Mk3 I think there is even traction control and ABS...

I think the Aero 8 is pretty cool, what made you choose that?

TBH I'm a bit patriotic so the Porsche was out, besides I find them very sterile from the inside. The Marcos was/is not ready yet and is still in final testing. The AM V8 is down on power from what it's capable of and I was really disapointed in the lack of interior features, color choices especially as I would be ordering this car new. The DB7 Vantage was a promicing prospect however I could not find one I liked and whilst it has that certain x factor it gave of the wrong impression.

The Aero however is Super low volume, really outrageous, Not Plastic, really-really well made car that utilises reliable BMW drivetrain and electricals. The 18in 5 spoke Magnesium pin drive wheels on the earlier cars are gorgeous.

I found that a really low mileage Aero was at a TVR dealer where I was most likeley to get a reasonable trade in so went for it... I've done more miles in the Aero in the first weekend than I managed to do in the TVR in the first 8 months (not without trying) and it's still working.

I must admit it's a very different drive, the torque comes from lower down but the engine will easily rev to 6000 (electronically limited). I've tried various routes compared to the Cerb and found that there seems to be less lateral mechanical grip (possibly due to narrower rear tiers or my lack of commitment with a new car).

The main advantage is the reduction in driving stress. I found I needed to be 100% comitted in the Cerb to drive it where as in the Aero you can hustle it along niceley or just stick the roof up and put the heater on and pootle wearily home just the same.

I think in the longer term the Aero would easily compete with the Cerb for speed and I suspect outstrip it for handeling. There are many BMW tuners some have now had experience in working on the Aero. I've been onto Hamman in Germany who can do some pretty amaizing things but in the short term a standard X5 ecu upgrade for a few hundred quid will see the Aero put out figures equal to stock Cerbs.

If your interested I'd get onto Mole Valley TVR who have a Mk1 2002 Aero in stock, I suspect you'd be able to do a sensible traid in and the Factory will replace the roof to the Mk3 spec for FREE if you ask!!

If you look back through my threads this is not my first drive in an Aero however I found that my main porevious gripe with the seeting position can be easily resolved with a replacement steering wheel which provides an extra 4"in of arm reach providing a comfortable driving position. Most have been done already by their 1st owners I was lucky enough to have found one that was already swapped. A completely different ride.

I was surprised how rare the Aero's are, a quick search on Autotrader throws up 3 across the country, compared to 65 odd Cerbs...I know it's not scientific, but I was surprised all the same.

CS, I don't think your profile photo does it justice, I think it looks great from all the other angles, in real life you would be able to see the curves square on, but not in your piccy.

I know exactly what you mean, which is why I still have the Cerb after five years.

I had high hopes for the Noble M15 but it doesn't look nearly as good as the M14 prototype, which I loved.

Bring on the Cerbera 2. ASAP.
