...and I only went out for a loaf of bread!!! No only joking, my first Porker will be in my garage in a fortnight. I'm so excited I don't think that I will sleep until it arrives.

It's been great reading your postings over the last few weeks, but I shall only feel that I truly belong once the car has arrived. I will add a photo once it's had it's first Xymol treat

Having read the thread on how you're treated a Porsche driver by other drivers, I'm hoping that a girly in a guards red Boxster won't get a bag of chips thrown in and may get better treatment - but I won't hold my breath! Anyway if you're in Surrey/W.Sussex and you see a woman grinning manically behind the wheel of her red Boxta - it's me, wave back because I have no friends (I can't afford to go out on the beer now, I need to spend the money on fuel).

Evening Rachel

Be careful, misspelling Zymöl is a capital offence round here.

So's calling a Boxster a 'Boxsta', probably.

But... If you're good lookin'. I'll give you a wave. You don't have to be in a Porsche, either. I'm not snobby like that. BTW - Guards red is a great colour, and not girly at all. Have fun - that's a great car you have on the way.

I think you might have missunderstood. When someone said Nervous was a big girl, they didn't mean.......

Welcome!

By the way, did you only spend up to £12K on the car? If so, is it the bargain of the century or what?

Anniesdad - quite right, I did post recently talking about a budget of £12k... but I talked myself into upping that budget to £19k! It's not really an investment thing, it's more a fun thing and I really felt that I deserved it! So, no not the bargain of the year.

Ah - the worlds most profitable car company weaves its spell once again. If it wasn't worth it then there wouldn't be so many of us .

Glad to hear it! Never justify - ruthless self indulgence is where it is at when it comes to toys of this magnitude. Welcome to the world of automotive indulgence and fiscal anarchy - still a [comparative] newbie myself, but loving it every time I turn the key...

Thinking about a nomex suit for all the flames around here though (and lets not start on the trolls)

If you've bought a Boxster for circa £19,000 you probably won't suffer too badly regarding depreciation.

Lots of fun for £19,000 so enjoy it. Lots of lady Porsche owners, especially Boxsters, so you won't be alone. Mrs. Sidley has a Boxster S and I manage to get to drive it once in a while.

Helen Goff tried to organise a Ladies group within Porsche Club GB but the old duffers who run the club blew it out. Response from lady owners was very positive and gave an indication that the enthusiasm for all things Porsche is just as strong with the ladies.

We look forward to hearing from you on a regular basis

Hi Darren

Yes I am now the proud owner of the Boxster S. I picked it up yesterday afternoon and haven't been able to wipe the grin off my face since then! I haven't had the opportunity to take any photos yet, but I'll do it at the weekend and will update my profile.

It's awesome, great fun....I'm in love!!
