Scam buyers!

Am I the only one to receive loads of scam type emails since putting my wedge on classieds and trader? So far I have had potential queries from round the world - Australia, Switzerland and Ireland. Oh and surpise surpise they want to pay full price. Today I also had a call from a firm called car data saying they had buyers ready and waiting to pay full whack.

About par for the course, I put my bike in Autotrader a few weks ago, not one genuine email, but about a dozen potential scammers. I just reply back saying they are more than welcome to come and view the item and offer me cash. Don't seem to get any replies after that

Just sold my wifes Focus and my m/bike, and yes...got loads of scam mails.
Delete, delete, delete.

I had a few from a company calling themselves "Midnight Imports" based in Austrailia.
Some of them probably are genuine but its not worth taking the risk

There have been many magazine and television articles etc on this very subject.

Best policy is to completely ignore them and delete.
That goes for all the telephone canvessers as well. Complete rip off merchants.

Tip: Set up a temporary free Yahoo or Hotmail type account and close it down after the sale. Protects your real email address from all future spammer who bought your account name as a "live address".

have to agree with that, get 5-15 emails per day on the main email and several per week on the others that I use, which are mostly online characters that I play in games

if people are genuine, u will get cash, if a scam then maybe a cheque for more than the amount asked for, it clears the bank and u send them the difference, only to find a few months later that the cheque was stolen and you have lost the money and the car

I got scam emails as well when I was trying to sell the Tasmin.
