Hi Guys

Don't know if any of you can help me, but every time I park my car in direct sunlight, the top of the dashboard must when hot give off some kind of vapour which leaves a film on the inside of the screen, like bad condensation. It's worst and most noticeable near the instument binnacle the surround to which is nearest the screen.

I've tried cleaning it off with a duster - doesn't make much difference, window leather, Autoglym Fast Glass and Windolene, all to no avail.

Any suggestions please - it's a real pane!

Same with me! Glad to hear it's not just me with this... anyone got any ideas what it is/how to prevent it?

Get some Rainex stuff - and the glass cleaner that you use before applying Rainex. Clean and apply on the inside of the screen and se if that works.

huh - I have the same issue - has got much worse now that the temps are higher outside - but I have been able to remove using autoglym "car glass cleaner" - would like to work on a fix though - clearing it twice a day is a little tedious!

I get the same thing as well. As with others I thought it was just something unique to my car.... glad it isn't but it doesn't make the problem any better I've tried cleaning the window again and it seems to be fine for now. Need to try and get the bugs out from the tiny gap between the window and the dash now.

Ooooooo spooky - I was just about to post about this.

I reckon it's oil blowing from the instrument computer as this has a (noisy in my car) fan to help with cooling.

A bit of detergent on a paper towel soon gets rid of it but it comes back pretty quickly.

Yep same problem here too, My T350 is over three years old, and i have had it from day one, and i still get it, what the fK causes it, Is it glue vapour/ oil vapour/ i have tried just about all the anti mist sprays on the market by now but to no evail !!!
And why is it just on the drivers side? (well it is on mine anyway)

Me too (with a Tuscan). Never had the problem until Le Mans last year, but had it ever since...drivers side only.

I'm a lazy git though, and just wipe it off / smear it around with a bit of kitchen roll. The boys at SP will confirm that my Tusc is permanently filthy (except when they kindly wash it so they can take pics of it!!!)

Think i might know what the problem is. If its like a vapour that doesn't come off even if you rub it very hard and the fans on full wont budge it either.

My dad had the same problem in his Volvo T5 would mist up randomly and prevented you from driving it was that bad and now matter how hard u rubbed even with a shammy it seemed to reappear. Went into volvo and they identified the problem instantly.

It was a split heater matrix the hot anti-freeze was causing a vapour to sit on the screen. Sure enough a new matrix and the problem was solved.

Hope this helps.

No, I won't be this. All T-series cars do this a bit. Easy enough to wipe off, annoying if you forget and don't have a cloth handy.
