Just cracked the 100k miles barrier in my 996!!...
Discussion
It's a '99 996 C4 tip. Engine still pulls like a train (fed on a diet of Optimax ONLY) and drinks about 1 litre of oil per 10k miles.
1 RMS repair (under warranty) at about 80k miles. No probs since then, apart from leaking air-con condensors (also fixed under warranty).
Just had an oil change service at OPC. No probs found (still cost £450 though). However, as the car's had full OPC service history from new, I'm planning to get a health-check done at JZ just to make sure there are no issues waiting to rear their ugly heads!

Only 1 RMS not bad, but you failed to state how many engines you've have had????
Good work!! How has the interior held up to high mileage, I have seen come cars with low is milage looking very worn and some with lot hiher looking pretty good.
My old BMW at 60 looked like the day it was made inside, but I think my 996 is not holding up as well.

...still on the original engine! The interior is actually in very good nick - looks the same as it did 4 years ago. However, I don't have any kids and my wife never drives it! So apart from scuffed boot/ engine lid release catches - it's in great condition. Having a black interior helps, I'm sure.

watch out the depreciation proof motoring boys will be after you for breaking the glass clealing.
how long you had it & what was on it when you got it? good to see you was it.

...I bought the car from an OPC 4 years ago - it had 47k miles on the clock at acquisition. It's my daily driver (obviously) and once every couple of weeks (in the dead of night, with no traffic around!) I 'stretch' the engine on the M40!

Top man!!
Mine has just clocked 50k miles, had 28k on it when I got it eighteen months ago.
Glorious car.

...agreed - they're fantastic cars - even the tiptronic ones!
Bits of the interior are a bit plasticky/ or feel a bit fragile - but that keeps the weight down! And I wear the lack of a glove box or cupholders as a badge of honour! The car's went soft after 2001.
I fitted the Porsche Sports Exhaust shortly after buying the car - and after 40k miles it sounds AMAZING! It may be my imagination, but the sound seems to have improved with time.
