PC problem

Ive been away for a week,I got home last night, I checked my E mails everything was fine, when I turned my PC off Windows did a download.
I turned my PC back on this morning and the windows security center is saying my anti virus software is switched off(I use AVG) AVG looks like its on to me but keep being told its off.
Please help(im not very good with these things)

Why not ping the little AVG box on the bottom right, and right click it.. Bring it up there, and switch it on?

Ignore it - sometimes the security centre checks for the AV before all the AV components are loaded into memory. It should just disappear.

try a manual update. I have dumped avg for a paid version on nod32, mostly due to it telling me suspect files were virus free and find that they had viri infection

you can download the update *.bin from the website, save to hard drive and then update from the folder location, if not sure what this means, ask your kid to help you out
