Nice Tracky. I'm liking the new Jag, but of the photos I think the three Muriels is the best.

I like how the orange Honda is under the "Oops" category

Great pictures though, and great cars.

I think trackdemon that it is somewhat of a back-handed compliment. that your usual standard is higher, perhaps?

Personally, I like them

thanks for sharing.

Maybe, maybe not. Either way I think critism should be:

(a) Constructive
(b) In context

Personally, I think their collectively better than any of the GFoS pics I've seen on here. Oh well, its not as if I do this for a living....!

I really like this one:

(captures the speed really well)

and this one:

I think the set capture the festival of speed really well.

did you draw the on the land rover's headlight or was it already there?

This is a great photo:

If someone had asked me I'd have guessed it was taken in a studio not in the paddock at the GFoS. The only things that slightly spoil it for me are the two shadows that go down the windscreen and onto the bonnet and the flecks of light on the right mirror and A-pillar.

The rest of them aren't bad either .

there are some very nice pics there. i especially like the rallying ones, they really capture the drama.
i kind of understand why a previous poster said they werent up to your usual standards (although i personally do) simply cos they have a different quality to your normal pics.

for instance, to me this one kind of looks slightly fake as if it is a still from gran turismo 6:

Did you mean that the colour balance was a little off, bit too green/blue ?

Just went into Photoshop and did a Levels grey balance only and this is what came out:

Exif information says the camera was on auto white balance but I'm not convinced its correct/working properly.

Matt is in South Africa at the minute so may not be back for a while.

Tracky, don't go getting all defensive but I think he has a point. There are some lovely shots here...the orange Zonda nose, the green, orange and yellow Miuras together, and the Jag nose I really like. But, being one of the better photographers here you've set a high standard for yourself and most of these don't reach it. I think most of these are images of cars driving past, not "photographs", as in "for art's sake", some are even out of focus.
On a straight car forum these are great, but in a photography section it's a little different. By posting shots here we are saying "what do you think?" and, I should know, you take the maulings {which this is not) and the indifference along with the praise.

Martin.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, really like the rally stage pics and static shots.
I do agree with V6GTO though, and I think your collection would have benefitted by leaving a few out:

I'm afraid that I find these 4 out of focus and/or badly cropped. If you compare these with your rally stage pictures, I hope you can understand what I mean. I also agree with te51cle regarding the colour balance, they look a much more natural colour after his adjustment.
I really enjoy looking at your work, but I do think that if you had been more selective with these, they would have got a better reception from some people.

Yeah, what i basically meant was that most of these are below the standard of your usual photos. I'm suprised that you didnt delete a lot of them in camera. There are some there that are out of focus, blurry, or unusually composed, but not in an artistic way...just in an accidental kind of way IMO. Some of them just look like snap shots rather than considered photos. Sorry for the bluntness...few too many beers last night and I was struggling to type as it was, but I didn't mean to cause offence. I just typed what I thought! When i get home you can slate my blurry, out of focus lion photos
