Rosso Tuscan parked up on an industrial estate (somewhere off the A259 between Worthing and Littlehampton - don't want to be too specific, as it may be parked there everyday!!).

Think it was an 02 reg.

Anyhow, a lovely example.

I was in a Rosso Cerb rumbling by.

Ah.....so it was you Big Al. I wasn't sure.

And you're soooo right - Rosso Pearl really is the canine undercarriage. You're Tuscan looked great. Glad you're still enjoying it and not missing V8 power..

Will defo stop by next time

I DO miss the V8, but love the Tuscan over the Chim.

Did you see that "OUR" old Car has been sold again?

There was a post running a couple of days ago where she was mentioned.

That is one pampered Chim, she's earn't Fernies a few Bob as well. I'll have to chat to Drew and do some numbers.

Thanks for the mail - all good stuff.

I was surprised as you to see that the 'old' Chim still made top money, but as you say, she was a very pampered car and for me, a great introduction to TVR

Interesting you prefer the S6 to the V8. I love the Tuscan and still really, really want one (open top motoring and all that), but went for the Cerb, because of the AJP8. I love the Cerb to bits, but I do feel that at some stage, I will have to 'scratch the Tuscan itch' at some stage

Have you done many miles since you bought her? Hopefully they've been trouble free???

P.S. I = lazy b*gger but will get some piccies on my profile soon...

I have driven a few Cerbs now, and the car is awesome! BUT and it's a big BUT, you can't take the roof off.

Not done too many miles in her yet, took her to France last year, never missed a beat. I do have a tendency to take the scenic route when I can. Went over to Holmbush this afternoon, went via Washington, Styening, and Shoreham, came back the same way to.
Magic drive on a sunny day.

Big Al - sorry to jump onto the thread but hope I can advise Cerb Zero a little.
My late 2002 Tuscan has now done over 20K and just last weekend, had an incredible blat to The Classic Le Mans. Achieved interesting speeds both ways and it didn't miss a beat. It stopped the traffic in Le Mans town every time I went out in it and the attention was unreal. Don't think the young ladies were staring at me.
The car uses virtually no oil and the car has been totally reliable. Odd niggle with door sensors but even I can sort those now.
When I first changed from a Chim, I did miss the V8 rumble but the addition of Carbon Cans changed all that. What an amazing car.
Everyone at one point in their life should experience a Tuscan - it's one hell of a car.

Thanks B2TUS - really useful for me. Can feel myself edging closer to a Tuscan, particularly with this summer's weather

Glad you've had a such positive experience with your Tuscan and it goes to show that there are many, many Spd 6 owners who have not had problems.

Out of interest, did you buy privately or through a dealer?

Hi Nick
In the end, I took the cautious option and bought from a dealer - Dream Machines. I looked at a few private ones but walked away for various reasons. Gut feelings about haing led a hard life etc etc.
I did check out with the previous owner of my Tuscan and DM were happy for me to do that. After a chat with the owner (twas Lady Topaz), I realised the car had been superbly looked after from new and had no hesitation in buying it. Had a very comprehensive 12 month warranty but in 5000 miles and the year, I didn't use it once!!!
There is no doubt in my mind that the majority of Speed 6 engine problems are caused by over enthusiastic use of the right foot when the engines are cold. Yes they sound like a bag of nails when cold but carefully warmed up, they are superb.
It's great car - go for it.

Brent didn't realise B2TUS was you!

Basically agree, can't say that the S^ engine is bullet proof, but do agree if you treat them with kid gloves until they get up to temp, then you MAY get a lot more life from them.

Still reckon that TVR should help out existing owners that do encounter problems, owing to their cost cutting exercise!

Thanks guys for the advice. Certainly in my experience of most engines, the more you look after them, the more they'll look after you.

Me thinks after my house move, that'll I'll be back to the more interesting job of Tuscan hunting. Can't wait...

Happy motoring
